Default shift control cable question

the manual says there will be two holes that should align with an inner hole so am i seeing this right? i don't wanna mess it up if i should just leave it alone. would you guys agree that my cable is completely off alignment because i see no inner holes at all inside the two side holes of the adjuster.
just put a jdm tranny in so it could have easily screwed this up

view from the drivers side

birds eye view of where i took out lockpin

view from passenger side, basically looks the same as the drivers. no sign of hole on the inner cable

If the lock pin goes in and the tranny shifts, it's fine.
