so the 06 accords and tsx's have the exact same engine. 2.4 liter i-vtec engine. so why does the tsx have 205 horse while the accord's only have 166? is there anything i can do to get my accord's horsepower to 205 like the tsx?

 

Good question. I bet it has a lot to do with money, and more money.

 

the two motors have the same displacement......but they are not the same motor. and yes there is plenty of things you can do to increase the horsepower

 

a lot of acuras and hondas use the same engine but thats something that would have to be looked at.

 

I would think that the tsx is a lighter car to start off with in comparison to the accord. Also the compresson ratio is higher than the accords.
tsx= 10.5:1
accord = 9.7:1

 

A better question would be can you fit an Acura TSR enging into an Accord?

 

Same displacement, same engine family, different head, cam, and computer. The TSX has a much freer-flowing head, and a more agressive VTEC setting

 

I believe that it spins up a bit higher too, not encumbered by the 6500RPM cut off like the Accord 2.4l
