I just bought this. Four hours later, I would find it makes this horrid noise when it is not warm. Research is suggesting Vtc Actuator, although mechanic on the phone is telling me that since the light is not on, it is likely valves. It sounds like the sound is coming from the right hand side of the motor (left if you are looking at it). I suspect it may be both. Thoughts?

 

its one of your pulleys! When mines sounded like that it was the tensioner
