is there really a filter in the transmission? I've been hearing around places that there is but to replace it or so you have to completely remove/rebuild the transmission. On some other place I've been hearing that there isn't at all a transmission filter. I'm just asking is there or is there not a filter for the transmission? If there is when do you guys recommend to replace it or do what ever to it?

 

There is no transmission filter for your accord.

 

There could be. If the car had a reman transmission replaced by honda a filter should have been intalled on one of the cooler lines.

If you wanted to add a filter to it that would be the place to do it.

 

Do you mean the transmission replacement by honda for the defected ones known to fail often from 98-02?

 

so far, all I know is that my transmission wasn't part of the recall for the accords to have the transmission replaced

 

wasnt it for all accord autos in that gen?

 

Not just those, all honda remans come with filters.

 

The orginal design of 6th gen honda auto transmissions had the filter (acutally a strainer screen) that was inside the transmission and not user serviceable. It is my understanding that the reman units have an inline filter on the cooling lines that needs to be changed on a regular basis.
