Default 86 lxi

hello, i have a86 accord lxi 2.0l 5 speed. for some time now it has been "cutting out" when i drive it, at a slow speed in like 3 or 4th gear. but the other day it was jerking around and we where going about 55 to 60 mph. what can cause it to do this, i was told it was the dis. cap and rotor....

Now i can do anything to a chevy or ford, i have a v8 s10 and so on... this honda is new to me...

check ignition timing, wires for arcing, plugs may be fouled ..... if you change the plugs, NO BOSCH!!!!! Use Denso or NGK only. Also, there could be a problem in the electrical portion of the ignition switch ... a fairly common Honda problem. Dizzy cap and rotor should be checked as well ...... keep us posted on your progress!!!
