Default tranny issue?

when im on the freeway, and have it floored, it does good til we 5th gear....at the end of 4th, it does 6200 rpms and keeps backing down and wont go into 5th unless u cruise into it half-throttled or so...i was curious wat this meant...i just built an intake for it last thursday and have many more plans to come. oh, its a 95' accord. automatic... i was also thinking about having it converted into a manual but am not sure how to go about that. some advice is highly appreciated =) THX

The 95 Accord auto has a 5spd tranny? Thought they didn't have 5spd auto accord tranny until 2003.

don't do an actuall forced flush, you just want to drain and refill it. I'd suggest using Honda ATF. Ask the dealer if they ever did it, you could also have them pull the dipstick and tell you what they think of the quality of your current fluid. Even if this doesn't fix your issue it's a basic matainence item that should be done if it hasn't been done recently

If you're flooring it don't expect it to pop into 4th gear until 100-105 mph and that's after it dips from redline to ~5800rpm and back.

why does it need to hit redline then back down a hair then go back up??? sounds strange...
