how do i extend the life of my boot(5spd), and what rpms should I be shifting on for best acceleration, and should i put in synthetic oil?(220k k/m)

I would have to assume you mean cv ( axle ) boot ?? if so you might want to spray it periodically with some wd-40 or any othr oil base chemical to keep them moist and keep them from drying out and cracking and eventually ripping .
As for shifting i never look at rpm i shift by feel .. so cannot give you an answer on that one
If you have the money use syntetic oil ,, if not any major brands will do ...5w-20,, 10w-30 .. the key is to change oil AND filter every 3- 3,500 miles ..if you use syntetic change it every 5000 miles

Thanks,also i noticed a clicking noise from the engine, Could that possibly be the power steering pump? Its a high pitched kind of loud clicking noise, what could that be?

on engine idle, basically when the engine is runnin even on higher rpms.
