Hey, I'm car stupid, first of all, but I'd like to learn.
I'm close to getting a license and have a 1991 4 door accord dx with an automatic transmission.
Everything is stock, and it's only had one previous owner.
I want a beefier engine, but not a beefy price.
Any help?

 

h22 + tranny

 

h22(engine from a Honda Prelude)+ tranny = beefy price
You really won't be able to do an engine swap for much less than $4k(maybe). Unless you can do the work yourself.

 

F22B2 or H23 + save for turbo kit.

I have a buddy who got a degree in auto engineering, and has most of the tools.
I guess i can rent the extras.

 

would the f22b2 work with the stock engine?
I can afford the tranny and the h22, but not at the same time.

 

^ if you want the h22, then I would just save the money until you have the dough to purchase both the engine and tranny at the same time so that it'll be less of a hassle.
