'94 getting hot at idle
Well, I have a '95 Accord on air but I want to go back stock. I bought a '94 Accord but it drives too good to rob parts of it and scrap it. It has around 300,000 miles and is the F22B2. It overheats if left at and idle but runs fine while cruising at highway speeds. My '95's fan runs for a few mins after I get out of it but haven't noticed this ones. It was said to have a new waterpump last year. Should I try a cheap T-stat first then flush the radiator or see if the fans are working properly?

When temp shows overheat, both fans should be running w/ keyswitch in ON position. If not, fans or fan relays are likely the problem. Check fuses first.
Turn keyswitch, AC switch, and blower to ON. Check for 12V at fan connectors. If you have 12V and no fan action, replace the fan. If 12V is not available, look for bad fan relay or damaged wiring.
good luck

If both fans come on in the above test, one or two more.
Check thermo A. It is located on the t-stat housing, pull the green connector and jump the wires inside the green connector with a paperclip or something (joining the two wires together). Turn ac off, turn ign to on, BOTH fans should run. And they should if the above worked, unless there is a wire issue.
If so you'll still need to test the switch, if it doesn't "close" then it is bad. At ~194* the switch should close and there would be zero resistance across the pins of the switch.
I'm assuming the coolant is full and no trapped air in the system.

Well, I've drove it a half a mile so it should warm up but maybe not enough to kick fans on. I know for sure they have never came on. I have the car sold. The car has like 300,000 miles and it drives great! I'd drive it anywhere.
