Default Air intake hose (wut?)

I have to replace the air intake hose because of two cracks. I've temporarily sealed it with duct tape.
The replacement intake hoses have a third hole that I don't have on mine.
Can someone look at their 1998-2002 honda accord 2.3L and let me know what you have? Thanks

It's a resonating chamber to reduce the sound.

If your car really doesn't have it, then either that hose should come with some kind of plug, or else when you order based on your VIN or your very specific model information then it won't have that extra connection.

I'll either visit a junk yard or keep the duct tape on the existing intake hose. Not spending $125 for something that's not needed.

In the heat of the engine compartment that duct tape might dry out & crack before too long. Keep an eye on it.

Received the air inlet hose today. The 3rd hole is blocked off so all is good.

Good deal!
If you just say "1998-2002 Accord 2.3 liter" that covers 2-door, 4-door, automatic or manual transmission, and 3 different 4-cylinder engines. And that doesn't cover the different cars called "Accord" in Europe or UK. Amazon doesn't bother to show a different photo for each potential combination of those things. Even Honda's electronic parts catalog shows the same drawing (that I posted) but sometimes #9 & #11 are missing from the actual parts list. I was too lazy to go into the parts catalog 10 times with different car-model information.
