98 accord v-tech V6. Hey guys I am looking to convert my auto transmission to a manual one, has any one done this tranny conversion b4?? First off I am trying to figure out what compatible boxes are out there and where i can source them. This engine has already destroyed two of the stock auto transmissions so am thinking its time to switch up and increase the fun factor. Someone has suggested the V6 NSX box, but it would really help to get some more input from you guys, maybe someone has even done this conversion b4,, thanx a lot....

 

I’m not all sure what trannys bolt up to your car. I’m not a v6 guy sorry...but someone else should chime in.

*edit*Now that I think about it. None of the v6 accords until 03 had the manual tranny option.

 

yea i know, dam and your the super knowledgable guy i have read a few of ur posts, still gonnna keep my fingers crossed for some info, maybe there is someone out there who may be able to shed some light.. my present auto tranny (the inhibitor switch is messed up and the green light around D4 keeps blinkin the tranny seems to be in safe mode and the car is driving really sluggish. suxx) thanx n e ways man...

I have seen ppl who have swapped the 3.0l and 3.2l into your gen accord. Maybe that might be the way to go. Get a better tranny and a more powerful engine. Not sure how much thos engines go for tho never looked them up.
When the d4 light blinks your tranny has detected a prob. Or failure in the tranny itself. I do know your gen accord has major tranny prob.s….I know that for a fact for the 4cyl so I’m assuming the same for the v6.

 

I think there's some Acura boxes, like maybe CL?? But I'm not sure about which ones will swap easily.

 

Acura, hmmm i see what yr n model though u have any idea?? i really would like to go fwd with this project so all info is much appreciated. G22 u sed the 03 accords and onwards provided manual or auto trannies, if i sourced a wrecked 1 or something like that you recon that manual box could probably work back with my 98's 3.0 v6 engine???
