cel 43,41,1 o2 sensor?
I have a 93 EX. A while back, my cel came on with a code 43. I didn't do anything about it at the time. I'm taking about a 3000 mile round trip in a couple weeks and want to get it taken care of. I checked the code today to be sure what it was, and now in addition to the 43, I have a 41 and 1. I know these all have to do with the o2 sensor. (Except for the 43 which I know may or may not be the o2 sensor) Is this an o2 sensor issue or wiring issue maybe? I just replaced the o2 sensor less than a year ago with a Bosch. I think I might just replace it again and see if it fixes it. I dont want to pay another $80 for one if its not the problem. Any input or suggestions is appreciated.
Code 41 is for the O2 sensor's heater circuit. Find the 2 same-color wires & measure resistance between them. Should be 10 to 40 ohms. If that's open-circuit, you know the heater is fried (or a wire broken) then you need a new sensor.
Did that sensor have the right plug or did you have to splice the wiring? Splices might be coming loose??
Otherwise, you might have to look for loose connections or broken wires in the car's wiring for that circuit. Not sure if that problem can cause the other 2 codes...
