Default Coolant leak above rear of oil pan.

2001 Honda Accord 2.3 motor with 250k miles. Been running fine then all of a sudden overheated. Overheats quickly. Replaced water pump with timing belt about 150k ago and thermostat about 50k ago. Haven’t found reason for overheat but did find really odd coolant leak from hole above some plug and behind the timing belt cover. Pic

attached. No sign of coolant in oil. Have never seen this before but I am an amateur. What is this hole for and is this a sign of something worse?

You’re in for some fun. I know what you’ve got going on.

Thats your water pump weep hole its either a bad gasket that tore up when it overheated or its the block cracked behind the water pump allowing coolant to flow out the weep hole. I had the same problem with my 5th gen accord so I just put some K-seal in it and its been fine ever since.

Also check that coolant bypass pipe (to the right side and back of that leak) and make sure it doesn't have any cracks in it, or pin hole. Mine had a pin hole in it that caused it to leak out all of the coolant causing it to overheat and mess up my water pump seal.

Wait so you just slapped some sealant in that hole pictured in the original post and your car hasn't leaked coolant or overheated since? I'm considering doing the same to my weep hole on 97 accord. Just need the car to last me a few months until I get another lol

wait so you just slapped some sealant into the weep hole and it stopped from leaking and overheating?
