Does the H23 TB/IM fit the f22 engines?

Hmm.. Well, looks like I have three options:

1. Spend my entire excess college F-AID money on an H22 that would only make it to 300hp if I work my *** off on the build.

2. Just drop in a stock h22 and have my *** handed to me.

3. Tell my friend that we can just both boost our f22b engines and see who ends up winning.

Lol.

honestly I your gonna have a hard time getting that 300hp. You will need lots of PNP work done to the intake mani and the head. Need nasty cams that you will hate to drive on as your DD. Crazy idle...my boy has a build h22 that is pushin close to 260hp but its sux to drive in in traffic. You can’t let your foot off the gas AT ALL not even sitting still. If you let your foot off the gas then the engine dies cus of the cams are sooo crazy. The idle is really bad the low end sucks and very rough until you hit vtec. Now when you hit vtec the engine turns into a screamer. Not sayin it doesn’t have low end anymore it's just very rough lowed power band. But it sure does make it up in vtec like woah!

I would say take the cash your gonna drop on the h22 and buy a turbo kit cams rods and pistons and have a nicely built turbo DD that’s just my 2c tho.

i second this ^^^^. i would say bolt on an f22a1/4/6 head and go from there. one thing you will notice is the ports are huge! they flow way better than that choked off f22b1. it would be great for a turbo build. gut and port the h23 manifold if you wanna go turbo too.

So the f22a heads bolt right up? What kind of work will need to be done besides simply bolting it on?

And I'm reading that the a6 has the most aggressive camshaft and that the a1/a4 have the same camshaft and that the only difference between the two are that the a4 came with bigger exhaust piping and a tubular designed header for an added 5hp. But that doesn't matter since I'm not getting the header or the piping. So the a1/a4 are the same and the a6 had an aggressive camshaft. If I'm boosting, how much is it really going to matter?

it won’t really matter. But the f22a6 is little better cam. It's really up to you at that point. It bolt right on to the block. all f22 engines are the same exact block just diff. heads

And what do I do about the fact that my current engine has vtec and the f22a doesnt?

I have to look into it but I think you can just plug and play. b/c the only feature that your head has is vtec everything else should be the same.
Now if you go with the f22a6 head you will need that ECU since the cam is diff. if you want to drive the car be4 you boost it

I'm going to go down to a used Honda car lot and ask them if they have or can get me the f22a6. I know that they sell parts, too, because a friend of mine has bought several parts from them. He even bought an h22 for his prelude from them a while back.

If they can get the f22a6 I'll ask for the ecu as well. Now, with that head and ecu, will it THEN be plug and play? In other words, that ecu will work with everything?
