Default Emissions and Engine Problem Codes

Hey guys, I have a list of code errors and figured I would post them. Might take awhile but hopefully it will help someone out

Code --------- Problem -------------------- Solution

Code 0 - Faulty ECM - Check the ECM electrical connector. If no loose connectors are found, have the ECM diagnosed by a dealer service department.

Code 1 - Oxygen sensor - Check the oxygen sensor and circuit.

Code 3 - Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor - Check the MAP circuit and sensor.

Code 4 - Crankshaft Position Sensor - Check the CKP sensor and circuit.

Code 6 - Engine Coolant Temperature sensor - check the ECT sensor and circuit.

Code 7 - Throttle Position Sensor - Check the TP sensor and circuit.

Code 8 - Top Dead Center position sensor - Check the TDC sensor and circuit.

Code 9 - Cylinder Position sensor - Check the CYP sensor and circuit.

Okay, well I have a paper to write so I will update/finish this when I get the time!

Good post, always test the circuit before you change the sensor. Nothing sucks more than getting a brand new sensor on there to find out it still doesn't work.

Desert...I'ts amazing that the stickys seem to never get used, they would save the members a lot of time if they would just use the search on this site..
