F23a throws power steering belt no visible issues
I did a radius rod last night and this morning had some spirited driving. Lost all power steering, belt was gone. Car idles high for a second when coming to a stop. And when leaving makes a lot of squeaks and such. Any ideas? Also the drive belt is super sticky and kinda bowed in the middle
I'd check bottom of the power steering pump for leak that could be blowing down onto the belts.
Check the front facing part of the power steering pump where the hose clamps on.(there's an oring under the fitting there that can leak)
Check the high pressure hose connection on top of the power steering pump for seepage in case of a failed oring.
Check the power steering hose that runs behind the engine on the drivers side bottom of the subframe for possible fluid spraying while running.
How was your power steering fluid level afterwards?
How was your engine oil level after you found that? I ask this because when I had some bad oil seals on my F22 one time it coated the belts in oil from the bottom slowly.
If you hook the power steering pump belt on does the pump scream while engine is running? If it does scream, squeak, or whine the bearing inside the pump may have failed. If everything is good and quiet with the power steering belt removed you need a new pump.
