After i turn my engine off the fan comes on. Is this normal or no?

 

On your 72 Pinto? No not normal.

Accord from i-dont-know-when up to 1997, YES it's normal.
Accord from 1998 to present, no not normal.

If it's cold like where I live, then it's maybe not normal for any car.

 

thanks for the info, sorry i said have said 93 accord. i thought i was goin to have to put that on my list of this to fix.

 

How long does it run? A few minutes in summer weather. Pretty short (if at all) during the winter.

If the fan runs for a LONG time, then maybe one of your fan switches is stuck closed.
It might also be from a thermostat that's running a bit hot.

 

not sure on how long haven't time it. i think i will do that today.
