Fuel Consumption Display (FCD) in Accord?
Does anyone have an FCD in their Accord? It is the thing that gives 'live' MPG while you are driving.
Of course the Insight, Civic and Accord Hybrids have them, but does anyone have one in their 'normal' Accord?
I did find this aftermarket on Ebay: ($165)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180080470395
And the product website:
http://www.3n1autocomputer.com/
Says it works on all vehicles made for the USA in 1996 and "Plugs into the diagnostic connector found under-dash on 1996 and newer cars." (OBD2)
Does anyone know of a cheaper one? I'm fine with OBD2 connection.
Anybody read this article? Kind of insane, but you gotta love his motivation. He says on page 3, if the EPA required FCD's on all cars that the US would save 20%. I agree that it would help and we Americans are competitive but 20% probably is a little high, unless you drive like a maniac.
This Guy Can Get 59 MPG in a Plain Old Accord. Beat That, Punk

Not sure where to get the guage, search around for an analog one that might be a bit cheaper....
I had that readout on my durango and I surely didn't get a whole lot better fuel economy!

The Scanguage II does so much more than just MPG. I've been trying to figure out where to mount it in my car.

Do you have one?
Right now I'm thinking about getting one of those cables that connect to a laptop (VAG-COM) for about $20. It will work on my VW, too. The software is free.
