is the head gasket the same as the gasket for the valve cover?

Default is the head gasket the same as the gasket for the valve cover?

my headgasket was reccently replaced and im planning to get a new valve cover, but i dont want to end up replacing the same gasket twice...

a head gasket is below your entire head. Your valve cover sits on your head. It's the part where you pop your hood and the spark plugs go into it. It's a different gasket. And much easier to install than a head gasket. Hope this helps.

Good chance that a new valve cover gasket was put in along with the head gasket. Check your receipts for the headgasket job.

But no, they're not the same thing. Look at where your exhaust manifold bolts to the head. Valve cover gasket is above the manifold, head gasket is below.
