Two points:
  • There are virtually no "very cheap/free" performance modifications what will measurably improve the performance of your car. In fact, in most cases "cheap" performance modifications will hurt mid range torque, an area of performance that most folks use on a regular basis in day-to-day driving.
  • The best performance modification for your car, a modification which isn't exactly cheap, would be to turbocharge your engine.

Yes your right about that, but as far as cheap/ free goes im talking things like adjusting or replacing worn throttle cables to achieve better throttle responce (which i need to do) etc.....

Ive been thinking about the possibility of adding a turbo

Turbo is definitely the best power/dollar ratio. But for keeping it N/A, intake, header, exhaust, bisimoto cam should add a noticeable amount and keep the budget at or under $1,000.

Also a h22/h23 transmission will take about .7 seconds off your 1/4 mile time. Of course it will adversely effect gas mileage.

From a similar thread on another forum, you can make a real good case for saying the most bang for the buck is a high-performance driving school.

It really is good advice, bang for the buck, a performance driving school is the cheapest way to coax a car around a track faster.
