More horsepower

More horsepower
So I'm trying to find not too expensive ways to add more horse power to my stock 97 lx besides cold air intake and exhaust. An H22 swap is a little too much so I was reading about swaping the head for an H23 but no one has posted any gains you get from that and others have said you get more gain from the H23 intake manifold so it's cheaper to just put the IM on. But still no talk about how much gain. Can anyone give me some advice on ways to add more power to my lx motor?

headers.. intake.. exhaust.. those are your main 3 unless your doing a engine swap
upgrading the throttle body and having ur car tuned with a better ecu can also give slightly more hp.
*your upgrades for more hp = all noise. the gains are minimal and the money spent will not add up to a noticeable gain besides you wanting to feel it

Without spending real money on a swap, a turbo, or at minimum a cam the gains will be minimal.
Nitrous can be a cheap way to add hp but it has to be done right and even then it has its risks and draw backs.

H23 does flow better. Not aware of any aftermarket intake manifolds for a F series.
Throttle body basically anyone would work as all F H B D series throttle bodies are interchangeable. Don't go too big though.
Cams Bisimoto is the way to go.

Unless you change your cam at the very least, then the manifold and injectors won't do much of anything; even then the gains will be modest at best. The fact is, unless you want to lay out the green (and plenty of it) for a turbocharging application, there really isn't much you can do the noticeably increase the power of your engine.
