I cannot recommend anything because there is nothing out there that will not inevitably mess up something on your ignition. If you buy an aftermarket ignition system, you better keep a fire extinguisher in your car.

You can't find them because your car doesn't have a distrubitor, much less a distributor cap. The rotor goes inside a distrubitor, so you don't have that either. Wires go from a distributor to the plugs, but you don't have a distrubitor so they're out too. That leaves the coil ...... you can't get an aftermarket coil since your engine has coil-on-plug, or 6 small coils that fit right on top of the spark plugs -- I've looked to upgrade these, but can't.

Spark plugs you can do. NGK Iridium IX plugs are very highly rated. Next would be Denso's. If you plan to rip out the ignition system and build a complete stand alone capacitative discharge system, the iridium plugs are no good. The additional power of this type of system will fry off the small iridium tips. Also if you plan to spray nitrous, no platinum plugs. The best for an OEM ignition is the NGK Iridium IX. The best for an aftermarket ignition system would probably be a full platinum plug (I'm not impressed with multiple grounds since I've run plug tests and the multiple ground plugs didn't do any better than single ground equivalents but a lot of people like them). The best for an aftermarket system with nitrous spray are the ZEX plugs, IMO.

Please put your car info in your signature.

I didn't even realize he had a 2003 V6. I was just assuming it was one of the old "so I want to add MSD to my car" threads. Good post Falkore.
