Ignition switch Replacement issue/remote start wired in
Hi there, i have a 1998 accord coupe, 5 speed, and its been obvious that the ignition switch has finally given out. so I have went ahead tried to replace it but encountered a problem doing so. the harness for it should be plug and play, should be simple, right? nope, after i got the dash pieces off i noticed a purple and red wire spliced into the original harness along with a rats nest of wires below.
The rest of the pictures below is what is wired all into everything, which I'm assuming makes for a complicated process?
does anybody have an easy solution for me here? i only need the white end of the ignition switch that goes into the back of the ignition. would it be safe to cut that off my new harness and spliced it into the already preexisting harness to avoiding dealing with mess under my dash?? any advice/help would be appreciated!! thanks!
Picture below is the harness, the part that's actually needed is the white round end.
