Max natural hp 98-2002?

RE: Max nature hp 98-2002?
Thank you to the three people listed here. I did not know I had "natural" as nature in the post heading but it seems most people got what I was trying to say. What they didn't get was that I wanted a answer that did not include forced induction. (Nas, Turbo, blower)
That is a lot of work...
So I can pretty much get the the engine to 235 - 240 with no problem. Not bad... What would be the prices on something like this?
What are the torque numbers that go with these swaps? Would one have 270hp but 160 torque? That is one of the reasons I like the J-family engines.

The J30A1 could do 300HP NA, but as mentioned, it would take a lot of money ..... and it wouldn't really be a J30A1 anymore after you swap to a J32A2 head, High Comp pistons notched for the larger valves, PNP + 3 angle valve job with double springs and titanium retainers ..... not to mention all bolt-ons, fuel upgrades and tuning.

the best you can do on bolt-ons is about 35-40 HP.........one of the MAJOR limiting factors is the small valve size of the J30a
headers and axle back = 25 hp
intake about 10 hp
CL type S cams about 5 hp

K series ftw. I think some dude on k20a added two modifcations to the block (type s IM and exhaust), kpro and that led to something around 250whp. just rebuilding the engine w/ stronger internals, etc. could possibly land you in the ~270 whp range.
k swap ranged from 800 (k24a4) to 1000 (k24a2) to 1200 (k20a2)
EDIT- but i disgress.....w/ your 2002 accord making 300.....i say go FI or Nitrous.

RE: Max natural hp 98-2002?
well, the k24a4 block is pretty well balanced....but you're starting low. i see what you mean....but at the same time a N/A 4 banger would be more fuel efficient than a 6 cylinder 4 banger
k24a4 160 hp/161 ft lbs torque
k24a2 205/ 162 ft lbs torque
k20a2 200/~141 ft lbs
but honestly, if you really want to push 300 swap in a J35A8 (TL type S). J37? 3.7L is pushing it....don't you think? But at the expense of doing these swaps...it's like buying another v6.

J37 is gonna be hard to find (junkyards, local places)....its debut is in the MDX (i think)...if you wanna swap a J37 give it some time and some poor bloke is gonna crash his MDX and trash it at the junkyard...then make your move.
J35 is more likely to be found
