well i recently purchased my 94 accord typeR. im pretty positive that i have a F22b1 in the engine bay. the typeR seems to be just like the 94 accord ex, so when i get parts, i should get them for the accord ex right?. cuz there is never a option for an accord typeR. again im like 99.9% sure its an f22b1 in the engine bay, am i right?

The engine code will be stamped on the engine.
Don't you mean it is an EX-R? I thought the only "type-r" accord was a 1998 model made in Japan with an H22 engine.

 

well i cant find the code on the block. and ive looked pretty hard, i dont know why. maybe im looking in the wrong places. and right on the back of the car it says very distinctively accord typeR. not a stocker either a real badge....peace

The engine serial number is stamped into the right front side of the engine block.

Could you post some pics? I have a sneaking suspicion that someone put a "Type-R" badge on your car. I have been unable to find any record of Honda making a "Type-R" in 1994.

 

youre right there as never a Type R Accord made for the 5th gens, only the SiR, which is what my wannabe *** has created. the SiR came equipped with the H22A motor as well. take some pics of your car as well as the engine bay, we'll settle this mystery.

 

ok then, i have been having trouble looking for info on this car as well, so i am going to have to agree and say that this car is just a normal 5thgen accord with an f22 with the badge replaced to say typeR. it doesnt have an h22 in the engine bay,im sure of that and comparing to other engine pictures i am positive this is an f22. the car still look shot though and i will post some pics up as soon as i take some...peace
