Hello, and thanks in advance for any and all help towards this project. So I'm currently working on my 91 accord Lx f22. I've bought another f22 engine and transmission from a salvaged 90 accord(idk if it's a Dx or and Lx) And I'm hoping to get some input on what all I should replace. I know should to replace all of the gaskets.(Which I've been quoted $240 for the Complete set) I don't need a new timing belt (bought it and haven't even driven it 10 miles) and I know I need to replace the sparks and wires. But what else? I mean if the parts seem fine should I leave it be or should I go the extra mile? I'm not rich but I don't want to go cheap neither just to have it bite me in the bum later down the road. I figured my best bet was to take it to a trusted mechanic and have them tell me what all they think needs replace. But I've learned that being educated is the only ally in this cruel world. So any pointers or heads up would be nice. The engine and tranny that I'm putting into my accord have only 82,000 miles on it but the accord's body has around 165,000 to 200,000. I don't know how much because when I bought the car the instrument cluster wasn't working. But it was stopped at around 150,000 and the title (which he had owned it for 2.5 yrs) had 145,000. So again thanks for any and all advice.

 

I would do the water pump, and rear main seal while you have the engine out. Always alot easier to do these things while the engine is out.

Also use new axle seals when you put the axles in.

Other things would kinda depend on how they are looking such as motor mounts, heater hoses, radiator hoses etc.
