Default is this normal / blow by

i got a 08 accord 4 cyl lx-p while the engine was running i took off the oil cap and the air was blowing out of it like a hurricane, now in the old days with my 92 lincoln we would call that blow - by, that means compression is getting past the rings or valve stem seals, now ive never owned a new car before and not a rice burner, and the car has 4000 miles on it now,its already had its first oil change................any feed back

I can't tell you why, but I can tell you it's normal. That's what the PCV valve is for, it allows those gases to go into the intake manifold and recirculated through the combustion chamber again.

Most of the air going through the PCV is from another hose connected from the intake pipe to the valve cover.

Crankcase pressure fluctuates up& down as the bottom of each piston displaces air. That fluctuation is much smaller as the number of cylinders is larger. 92 Lincoln V-8 vs Honda I-4??

When the oil cap is open, air is displaced out AND IN. But the inward flow (between outward pulses)is much harder to feel, so it FEELS like its all blowing out.
