I have a 1990 Accord ex and I have a problem it keeps overheating if I go about 5 miles and when I turn off the car, water just starts to come out the overflow container so then the next time I leave it will overheat so I have been putting water every time i get home from somwhere.

sounds like a stuck closed thermostat

first off make sure that the radiator is full.. if not chk for leaks and repair as needed ..
if no leaks,
start the car and let it warm up,, once engine is warm, the lower rad hose should feel almost as hot as the top rad hose,,,,,,,,,if it feel warm or cool,, you got a stuck t-stat ..
replace and retry .. and make sure both fans come on

search out DIY section there are a few write ups on it
