I have a honda accord 1999 with this code(cylinder 2 misfire). Before my car overheated and spark plug boot melted on to the spark plugs so it was hard to get out but i did it. I changed the spark plug and the code still shows up. Would it be a fuel injector? I do get the smell of gas when the car is running Any ideas what it might be.

There is a "gauge" you can rent/buy that will read the compression of the cyl's. With the over heating I'm worried that the head gasket could be damaged.
If the compression is ok, then I would then be sure the normal tune up items (cap, rotor, plugs, inspect/replace wires) are up to date.
Once the above is confirmed and the issue is still there we can get into more testing.

Just because the wire is not seating doesn't say the the head gasket is done. More towards a "bad fitting" wire.
IMHO - For a wire set, prestolite or NGK is what I would go with. For spark plugs I would stick with NGK.
