How much power do you think i could get from getting forged pistons with a higher compression and larger bore, or would it even be worth it? and would they have to be custom made or does a company make something along those lines?

RE: pistons
pistons alone? if your going to tear it down do the whole thing. dpr e's, titanium retainers, better springs, cam, port and polish, rods, increase displacement, forged pistons. if the head will flow and the valvetrain doesnt float your all good.
id say at 10-12 thousand rpm you should make about 280 hp. just a guess though. with forced induction? on race gas? maybe 5-800 hp

RE: pistons
*blinks* 10000 rpms? on an f23 engine? isnt that exceding the max revlimit based on the 97mm stroke of the engine?
but if you bore it out to a 87mm and use prelude pistons then which will save you money in the long run, i believe its a floating pin. But without having a dohc head you will lack some tuneability otherwise with dyno and fuel map tuning and an 11:1 compression you should get over 190whp with porting the head and having a regrind done on the cam. This is n/a of course. Otherwise the other things lightshow said but his 280hp is based on aggressive overbore which is had to find placing willing to do 100mm sleeves (100mm bore x 97mm stroke = 3.1L *drools*) otherwise i would aim for 88mm bore or 87mm bore and you can use prelude pistons 88mm would put you at a little under 2.4l with an 11:1 compression
any higher then 88mm you will want to look into sleeving the engine. And if you want to sleeve the engine go with 90 - 92mm bore ^_^

RE: pistons
yeah, that would be nice, and the only setup ive seen mentioning it is with an h22 prelude and i dont know why but he said it was only 2.8l even though he said 100mm bore and 97mm stroke but yeah, thats 300ish hp and an agressive cam profile....
i dont want to know how much that motor cost.....
