I have a 1999 accord JMD with a F20B motor and automatic 4 speed tranny. Recently I noticed a few things. I was trying to overtake a car in D4 and when I hit the gas pedal there was no acceleration at all...after that I noticed that the car will shift through 1st and 2nd gear ok but will have problems shifting to 3rd and 4th gear. The rev counter will not pass 3000 rpm for the car to change over into the higher gears. When I put my keys in the ignition I noticed that D4 is lit and stays lit but when start the car it goes away also this morning I saw the check engine light when I put the key in the ignition but when start the car it goes away also. I am not sure what is going on. The transmission fluid is at its optimum level and I dont smell any buring or anything like that I am going to take it to the honda dealership mondag but I would like to see if anyone in this forum have or had any similar problems and what was their solution....any advice or reply would be greatly appreciated

 

Have it checked for any stored codes.
