shifting to 2nd and 3rd rough
I bought a 2000 Honda accord special edition down in florida about 2 weeks ago. Its in mint condition with 36,000 miles on it, its a baby. I live in Massachusetts
2000 Honda accord, 4 cylinder, automatic transmission.
Well when we drove it out of the auction we noticed it was rough shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. But from 3rd to 4th no problem. We took it to a mobile 1 service station and they did a full transmission fluid exchange. He used twice the amount when he cycled it through to really clean out the old transmission fluid and put the "HONDA" fluid in case their was regular ATF in their. It tremendously improved the problem, but I still feel it a little when shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd it feels like a pro shifting a manual transmission (its a smooth shift, but you can kinda feel the lag).
I was wondering could it be a linear solenoid? or a sensor? because it shifts down beautifully so I know the transmission itself is perfect. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

You may be experincing transmission failure. This is very typical with the Accords ranging from 1999-2002 and some 2003's.I have a 2001 Accord and had to have my transmission replaced. Honda did cover half the cost of the labor and cost of the remaufactured tranmission. If I were you, I would takethe car to a Honda dealership and let them check the veh out. If it has on 36,000 miles on it, Honda should replace that at no cost to you. The warranty was extended up to 107,000 miles i think.
