I disconnected the passenger airbag, after reconecting everything, now the SRS light wont' go out. What can be done?

99 LX 2DR 5spd 2.3L VTEC

 

So I called the dealer, because everything that I read on the issue said to go straight to the dealer, and they said it'll be $79 to diagnose the SRS system. Then the guy on the phone at Honda asked why did I disconnect the airbag, I told him I was following the manual and that's what it said to do. To which he replied that they never do that when working around airbags.

 

Just what did the guy at Honda tell you to do next after you told him?
