Default Starting issue - '99 EX V6 coupe

New member here; have a '99 EX V6 coupe with 112xxx miles; well cared for; garaged. Here's my question: Just came back from the grocery store; shut car off so I could open the garage; got back in and car wouldn't start; battery OK; cranked well. Remembered that the "service required" light would come on on the dash, but always went off after a few seconds. In the past, I usually deactivated it per owner's manual "soon" after it appeared. This time just let it go for "months?" Thinking that this might be the problem, I deactivated the light per manual (held button in on dash, moved ignition key to the II position and held button in for 10 seconds). Car started right up. No indication in owner's manual of problems associated with not deactivating "maintenance required" light. Service advisor at local dealer drew a blank (frankly didn't appear to be too interested, but said that she didn't think the light was the problem). Have any Accord or Honda owners had a similar problem? If so, did deactivation of light solve the starting issue? Thanks all.

The service required light on a 99 accord turns on after a certain mileage to remind you to change the oil. It shouldn't have anything to do with your car/

If the check engine light stayed on, then you should have the car scanned for any codes. You should stop by a parts store to see if any codes are stored on the PCM.

Your description is that you have an intermittent crank no-start, where the starter is spinning the engine, but the engine won't run on its own. If this is true, then the no start is likely from a lack of spark or lack of fuel. You'll have to troubleshoot when it is acting up to determine the problem. Also pay attention to when this happens, like warm/cold weather. Hot or cold engine. Rain/humidity vs dry conditions. Also pay attention to your gauge cluster to see if something is different when it won't start, like the tachometer doesn't move or the key light flashes.
