Default Tuning a 94 LX engine

I'm looking to "beef up" and tune out my MT 1994 accord Lx 2.2L. Currently I've got a new exhaust system, headers, and an AEM CAI. I dont have the money to spend on boosting it, and I'm not really wanting to put more than 2k into it. I've been reading about head swaps and engine swap. I could use some guidance from anyone that has treaded these waters before and has some insite to share with me.

Thanks!

if you have 2k to spend just do a h22 swap. It will be fewer headaches than doing head swaps.
But there are some head swaps available. h23/f22a are the common and easy. Now the h22head swap is a pain. Lots of mixed and matched parts along with having to plug to oil drain ports on the head. Custom head gasket chipped and tune and the list goes on.

The nice thing about the f22a and h23 head swaps are you can run a OEM ecu. H23 ecu for the h23 head and f22a ecu for the f22.Then if you wish you can go and get a tunable chipped and socketed ecu and either have a dyno or street tune.

If your looking for something faster just go with the h22 swap. It will wake your accord up ALOT.

Okay, thanks. If I were to do the H22 swap I would have to get a new ECU? Also would I want to go with a H22a, or H22a1?

depends on what head swap.

h23=h23 ecu
f22a=f22a ecu
h22= chipped p28 or p72 ecu with h22 base map. The getting a tune ASAP

h22a=JDM
h22a1/4=USDM

if you can snag the h22a over the a1/4. The h22a4 is OBD2 so conversion harness is needed.

Yeah Im thinking of just doing a full engine swap with h22a... sounds like the best bet. And if I wanted that would probably be the best engine to turbo..correct? I've found h22a on ebay for not too much.

Stock form h22 is better off a all motor engine. If you have money to throw at the engine (like 3-4K) then it can be a sick nasty engine. I’m gonna let you search about boosting a h22. The info has been cover many times. I just don’t have the time right now to type it all out. Cb7tuner.com is a really good source of info on h22 engines along with f22a engine too.
