Default Upstream O2 sensor for 2001 Honda Accord LX 2.3L ULEV F23A4 engine

Hi all,

I have a commie California edition of 2001 Honda Accord LX 2.3L ULEV F23A4 engine. OMG it is SO hard to find the correct upstream sensor. A lot of stores and online stores sell you the costly wrong/knockoffs sensors.

My car has the persistent P1164 code, which is only for ULEV F23A4 engine code that says that sensor 1, upstream O2 sensor is bad! The car drives fine and smooth, but it won't pass the commie California state's smog check if the car has the code. I have been struggling trying to eliminate this code for months. eBay sells this sensor that looks like the OEM one (NO label marking) and claims to be compatible with this car, but they are all garbage/knockoff stuff.

I have been searching high and low for a working sensor. PLEASE share and advice on any tips here. The first photo below is the original OEM Denso sensor 192400-1020 and is Japan-made. Note of the GREEN cable cover. The second photo shows the one from Denso (192400-8090 with black cable cover assembled in the USA) at a local auto parts shop. The last four digits of these two parts do not match, as well as the color of the cable cover. Is the 8090 part compatible ($300 and is non-refundable!)???

Thank you!
