VERY loud squeling noise when started
When ever its cold out and i start the 89 accord lx it makes this god awful noise like a cat being put throw a meat grinder very slowly feet first. I stops after about 20 sec or so or when the car is warmed up a bit. I think its a loose belt but im not sure. Anything i can do to help pin point it and fix it? Im pretty good under the hood but this is my first honda so i would like the advice from more experienced owners. Please help!!! It wakes up the people on my street when ever i got to my night job. Thanks in advance.

RE: VERY loud squieling noise when started
Hey, I had a similar problem with my 97 accord lx, turned out to be my AC compressor... removed it and bypassed it with a smaller belt from the crankshaft to the alternator and it ridded the noise... does it have a hard time starting or stahl when you get it started?

like YEU said make sure that the belts are tight ,,if they are loose adjust properly or replace them if they are glazed or cracked ,,if they are tight ,and ok,, could be a noisy water pump , alternator ..
but it sounds like belts
