Default "S" Blinks in dashboard

Hi Im new to this site and I recently purchased a used 1990 Honda Accord 4cyl Automatic. The Automatic Transmission has a 'overdrive switch of "Normal" and "Sport" , Apparently nothing happens while I driving and press the button to either Normal or Sport. What does happen within 10sec i start driving on the road the "S" for Sport starts to blink in the dash board. Can anybody tell me what is happening here what is causing the S to Blink???? Thanxs a bunch in advance Pepe

hey

I have the same car you do. Sports feature makes the engine rev a little bit more. A blinking "S" happened to me and it was a transmission module going out. Eventually it got so bad that i only had R, 1 and 3rd gears, and i had to shift them manually. Because where I live there aren't that many 90' Accord Ex Coupes, I had to have it flown in special from FL from a junked car. Hope that helps. Also, there is a good post on this site somewhere with a person having the exact same problem.

Cheers
