$1,000 per year following recommended maintenance
Hi All:
I live in Toronto, Canada and have a 2005 Accord. Based on honda's maintenance schedule and the dealer costs, I'm averaging nearly $1,000 per year to keep the car going. Sounds like a lot for someone who does the typical 20,000 kms per year. Do you guys follow the recommended schedule to a T? Also do these prices jibe with what you are seeing?
Type A $41.88
Type B $ 198.88
Type C $233.88
Type D $407.88
Type E $407.88
Thanks!

Welcome to the site!
I would do that schedule, & sometimes even more.
But shop prices vary A LOT so I don't really know what's what in Toronto. Besides, I do all that stuff myself so that's different too.
You can shop around different mechanics for nearly all that work, a lot of it is not much different than any Toyota or Chevy. Got an independent mechanic that you trust? In your owners manual there's a list of work for A,B,C,etc. Or we can fill in what you need to do.
Or... stick around here & learn how to do a lot of that stuff yourself? You can change airfilters in your driveway. Just let us know what kind of mechanical work you've done on other cars & people here will help you out.

way way way too much money.........20,000 km is 12, 427 miles..
all you need to do is oil + filter every 3000-3500 miles cost around 30 dollars each
a minor service at 7500 miles cost around 75-100 dollars
and a 15, 000 miles service cost around 225-275 dollars
Same schedule the following year except instaed of 15k you need a 30k which need a bit more stuff but not much more 30k around $ 275-325 ...
than the 45k , 60k etc etc,,
unless your car needs extra work,,,,,brakes, cv boots, belt, etc etc..
AND
If indeed you are paying $ 1000 per year , someone is doing un needed work or over charging you big time
take a look at the schedule below ,,,,,,your car does not require plugs till 105k miles and valve adjust only if noisy
