Default 60k service

Sorry if this is the wrong section wasn't sure where to post.

So I have an 08 accord coupe ex-l. It has 57k miles on it, so i'm getting close to the 60k service. I'm going on a road trip to Maine, so round trip is going to be over 2k miles. I'm getting an oil change before going on the trip and was thinking about getting the service done too. Is that a good idea? Can I even get it done early at the dealer? Also any ideas on cost? I'm guessing around like $300-400 at a dealer although i'm sure it varies a lot.

Take a look in your owner's manual to see what services are required at 60K.

Honda technically doesn't have 30K, 60k, 90k, etc. services for the Hondas with Maintenance Minders. Some dealers will do the standard on their list and charge for the 30k, 60k, etc. if a customer requested it.

Refer to this thread, which for the most part has the same info. regarding maintenance.

Mileage spec'd maintenance is conservative, so you're going to have one well maintained car. But do it.

Whatever a factory recommends for 60K, I'd try to have done by 75K, but that's just me.

Thanks for the responses guys. I went to the local honda dealer and they did say they didn't do 60k service. They said that my car has a maintenance minder which tells them what to do based on how I drive. At the time I went in the minder had just gone off for an oil change and they checked the system and said I was just due for a trans fluid change. I did both and it was $140 which I didn't think was bad.

I need to look into what's scheduled to be changed though if anything. Like water pump/ timing chain, etc.

not bad but if you are good with unscrewing two bolts and a funnel you could have saved $50-70

For the 4 cylinder, the plastic splash shield does not line up exactly with the transmission drain plug. So, not just unscrewing a transmission drain plug, unless you cut a larger access hole. 6 cylinder is okay though.

Timing chain is never scheduled. You can measure the extension of the tensioner, but don't expect to need a new chain for 150k miles or most likely a lot more.

Spark plugs & valve-lash adjustment about 100k miles.

Any more with new-ish cars, 60k miles is not anything special.
