Default **help with running cleaner**

Hello all! Just bought a 96 accord lx 5-speed mt. 160k...
It's a bit running ruff and previous owner did not take care of much. I'm not to aware of these engines but am very mechanically inclined. It passes smog but runs a bit rich (HC). What things can I do to clean it up? As far as cleaning ports or IAC or EGR etc...and throttle body etc.... stuff like that. ..thanks in advanced!

ROUGH and rich...I would start with the secondary ignition, plugs, wires, cap/rotor blah blah blah...if they all look good, check valve adjustment.

I'd clean the EGR ports. There is a good youtube video on ericthecarguy about how to do this on your engine.

a shop vac and a small screwdriver to clean out the bulk. Then carb cleaner to dissolve what is remaining.
