Sometimes the dash lights will just go out for no apparent reason. If I tap on the plastic shield they will sometimes come back on. I've disassembled the unit and replaced bulbs, looked at wiring, etc.-everything seems okay. Has anyone ever seen this before or know of a good fix?

 

The way you described it, it definitely sounds like a faulty connection somewhere. Other than examining every wire, I cannot really think of anything.

 

I pulled the cluster and it turned out that the far left harness connector had some play in it. I shimmed it with a small piece of wood and problem solved. Hope this helps someone else.
