01' Accord EX...Alternator? Really?
Draser,
I finished my alternator project this afternoon and am editing up a "How to Guide." I was able to purchase the brush assembly from an automotive electric store. It was $7.00. However, if you research it a bit on line you will likely find one for <$5.00.
I was tipped off that repacking or reinstalling the bearings could be quite the project. The Denso style alternators have very large bearings as is and supposedly do not go bad.
Expect to spend between one and two hours on this project.

Good fix with the brush kit! If, by chance, problem returns... find out if the ECM handles the regulation of voltage. If so, buy an 18 dollar "universal" regulator. They come with easy wiring instructions and and are compatible with all models.
