First time here.

My 01 would not smog no matter what was tried. Cat...and sev other things.
Whatever the case, I finally had the Honda Service Manager take a look at it and it was discovered that the computer was bad. He said that this is pretty rare.

Computer ($1200) was replaced and car finally smogged. Whew!

That was 1 week ago.

Today A/C started going out. It has never so much as hiccuped. I take excellent care of my vehicles so is not for fail to do so.

Anyone have knowledge as to whether or not a new computer in a 12+ yr vehicle could cause such a problem?

Highly unlikely that computer is causing AC problems.

Suggest checking whether compressor is engaging and running or not. If not engaging, check single compressor wire for 12V when compressor should be running. Report what you find and forum can help.

I wish you had contacted us earlier. Your computer can usually be purchased for <$100 from salvage yards or ebay.
