Default 01 Accord wont start

01 Accord just died going down the road, has been idling rough on occasion and stalling, now it wont start, about 280,000 miles nothing ever done on car, I owned it first then gave to my daughter. My daughter told me someone checked it and the fuel pump was out. Bought a fuel pump and filter and replaced did not fix problem it is getting fuel, Kinda made sense fuel filter plugging up causing rough idling and then pump failing causing it not to start. Mistake listening before checking. Pump runs pressurizes and shuts off like supposed to. Next step cranked over and checked for spark, cylinder 1 has spark, no other plugs getting spark. I hooked up reader and it gave me a code cylinder position sensor. Makes sense it won't fire plugs if it doesn't see a position. It looks like it is in the distributor. I dont want to keep replacing parts, and not fixing it. If anyone has any suggestions on trouble shooting that would be great.
