03 Accord - No Electric Power
OK, so I think I really messed something up. I was trying to get to a/c compressor so I started to remove alternator. I unplugged the harness on the front, then started to unscrew the bolt holding a connector wire to the alternator...so BIG SPARK when the wrench touched both the alternator bolt and the plenum...(doh! #1) methinks I better disconnect the battery, so I did. Then something came up and I needed to use the car right away so I reconnected the battery, went to start the car but no power....forgot to reconnect the harness (doh! #2). Reconnected the harnes, but no power...no dash lights, nothing. Checked battery fuse and a few others, found nothing blown. Tested battery with meter, seems ok. Yes, I'm a bit of a hack that like to try to fix things but sometimes blows everything up instead. Any help/suggestions are much appreaciated. Thanks!
get the alternator tested. there is a diode in there that protects against reversed polarity.
you most likely blew that, if you are good with alternators, they are easy to rebuild. order the diode and slap that puppy back in there.
