Default 04 accord ex 4 cylinder question

just wondering if it is possible to access the transmission filter on this model and year and if anyone knows where it is located if possible thank you for your time

I checked hydraulic flow schematic of 2003-2007 Accord 4-cyl. shop manual and found no filter anywhere.

ok i will install a magnefine filter instead of getting the current one torn out of transmission thank you tex

The in-line filter is on top of the transmission. Honda does not consider this to be a normal service item. However, many DIYer's do change it.

Honda part number: 25430-PLR-003

so i could remove those hose clamps and connect the magnefine filter directly over passing the stock one if i cant remove it?

Removing the one bolt for the bracket holding the OEM filter is not the hard part, it's more difficult to remove the spring clamps. But right tools makes all the difference.

I have no real knowledge of the Magnefine filters. They supposedly are longer than the OEM filter.

You can refer to this thread for replacing the OEM with a Magnefine.

yeah if its longer it shouldnt matter and i will just have my mechanic do it rather than swearing at the car

hot damn! gonna pick one up and install next week...needs a service anyway, will report back with any shifting quality changes.

yeah you should drain tranny fluid out and refil then drive for 75 miles repeat 3 times
