Default 05 acceleration issue!

Hi all,

Recently my 05 coupe MT started having problems with acceleration. It currently have 190k on the odometer. The problem seems to occur in all gears but only at 3k RPM or above. I dont seem to have any sputtering when this happens. While driving, once the RPM passes 3k, I feel somewhat of a jolt similar to braking really fast and the car just slows down. When I shift to the next higher gear I regain acceleration. Any idea what could cause this?

A little history on my car:
Replaced engine at 160k due to oil consumption.

Is the Check Engine Light on? You could be running in limp mode, if so.

4 or 6 cylinder?

Like EXV6NIGHTHAWK asked, any Check Engine Light?

Do simple checks like making sure oil level is okay, air filter gasket not pinched in housing.

It is a 4 cylinder. The check engine light goes on and off once in a while. I checked the codes today but the stupidity in me cleared them before I can write them down. Now my check engine light is off so when I try to read the codes, nothing shows up. Will have to wait til the light comes on again. There's no telling when it'll go on, it goes on when it wants to.
