I just purchased an 05 Accord EX with 190K on it. The driver spotlight turns on manually but does not turn on when the door is opened. The passenger spotlight does not come on manually or when the door is opened. The ceiling light in the back does not turn on manually or when the door is opened. I have made sure the switches are in the correct positions.

Any help is appreciated and looking forward to some good posts in the chat room.

 

Pax side failure to come on manually is either bad bulb or bad Map Light switch.

Failure of either side to come on when door is opened suggests a fault in the Ambient Light transistor or fault in the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU). Ground path runs to the MICU to enable the lights when door is opened. Something is interupting the ground path.

Do you have a wiring diagram? If not, trying to fix this problem is akin to throwing darts in the dark. Check automanualsource.com for download manual for $22.
