Default 07 Accord- WHAT ARE IT'S PROBLEM AREAS ??

Just bought a 07 EX..Had I had the time I would have checked here 1st. OH WELL, So what are the problems I should expect in the next 100000 -150000 miles or so..It is an auto trans ,4 banger..Thanks

PS: Think I'm going to cancel the extended warranty..It's for 100000 mi & the car will see that in about 4 years....

You shouldn't see any problems with your car. Oil changes using the PROPER 5W-20 at 5000-7500 mile intervals, rotate the tires every other oil change. Don't flush the transmission, but a drain and fill is ok every 30000. New air filter every 15k or earlier if you drive in dusty areas. Run a tank full of premium every 6-12 fillups.

Enjoy 100k+ of happy Honda motoring - the car will fall apart long before the engine/transmission do.

How will that help the car? I've heard it from a few other people but never really took it seriously. Any more thoughts on this guy?

Thanks Adam : So what is the Transmission issue I keep seeing here & there ?? " known design problem " "Crappy shifting " ??? I bought the car kind of in a hurry JUST on the Honda name & expected reliability.. I have a few days toy decide if I want to keep the 100Kcatch all warranty & I am thinking on dropping it !!

Smaglik : How can the verdict not be in ?? There must be hundreds of 07's with lots of miles BUT one reason I jumped on an 07there were no major changes for a few years was there ?? I did not want to test a NEW DESIGN 08.. Thanks Harley

"Another huge issue for me - I have never bought from a Honda dealer, always bought privately. Is it like pulling teeth to get them to give you the time of day after you walk out the door? Certainly the sales teams at Honda dealerships have been a little slimey. Hard to believe the BS they have shot at me in the past week of shopping around. Maybe all new car dealers are like these guys, I don't know. Also, I asked two of the service guys whether the auto tranny that gave problems in the '03 and '04 models, the one that was the subject of the huge recall and needed the oiljet retrofit, was replaced in later years. They both said 'yes, absolutely, it is a different tranny'. Turns out that was a blatant lie - the same tranny with the same oiljet retrofit to keep second gear cool is on the '07 autos."

ANY ONE KNOW ABOUT THIS ?????? Thanks

The tranny problem was woth the 6th generation v6 and some 4 cylinder accords. I assume they fix the problem with there 5 speed autos. Other wise i think you motor will run very verylong. Plus for a 07 to have that many high miles i suspect its all highway which is a plus for you. You should be fine just do the proper fluid changes.

Look at a calendar my friend. Its 2007. Give it a year or two, and any nagging issues will crop up.

Oh, and a little advice...never buy a car in a hurry.
